A Legacy of Kindness

THE TWINS TURN 92 TODAY! Technically, Janet’s birthday was YESTERDAY given Japan's time difference. (Jean was born FIRST but for the past 60+ years, Janet has been the “older” sister one day a year.)

These sisters are remarkable. One is my Mom, the other is my Aunt. Although they have spent most of their lives living a world apart, they have remained close.

One of the things I admire about them is the LEGACY OF KINDNESS they have created. The way they conduct themselves - with open hearts … with empathy and compassion for others … in a spirit of service and giving – STILL, at 92. It is who they are and will always be.

While it comes naturally to them, it is NOT without effort - LOTS of effort! After all, Kindness is Love in ACTION.

Jean and Janet have provided my brothers Carl and Scott and me, and my cousins Sanae and Takuya, with a rich HERITAGE OF KINDNESS. What an incredible blessing! To our families and to the THOUSANDS whose lives have been enriched by these former schoolteachers and community activists. These two lovely and KIND human beings.

Makes me think … “Am I creating a Legacy of Kindness in my own life”?

No excuses NOT to! I’ve certainly had fine examples. YOU likely have, too. I’d love to hear about them!
